Continuing to be on the forefront of survey technology, Underhill has added 3D laser scanning to our wide variety of services offered to clients in Vancouver, BC and Canada. 3D laser surveying provides unprecedented detail and accuracy in as-built surveys. Data are collected at rates of up to 1,000,000 points per second, with millimetre precision. These "clouds" of data can be used to model virtually any object that can be measured. CAD representations (2D or 3D) can be extracted from the cloud data. Laser scanning applications include

  • building information modeling (BIM),
  • reverse engineering,
  • scanning support for film industry (for modeling and CGI),
  • building facades, interior detail, and structural as-built surveys,
  • industrial plant modeling,
  • 3D and photo archival surveying, and
  • topographic surveying.
