Underhill was contracted to perform a number of surveys related to the construction of the Canada Line (formerly RAV line) which runs from downtown Vancouver to Richmond and to Vancouver International Airport. Clients included Canada Line Rapid Transit Inc., SNC Lavalin, SNC/SELI Joint Venture and PNR Contractors.

This survey project included the following

  • Detailed structural and topographic surveying of station sites.
  • Precise check surveys on the tunnels under False Creek.
  • Shaft plumbing to check alignment of tunnel at Yaletown.
  • Three dimensional laser scanning of the Dunsmuir Tunnel.
  • Legal surveys of the right-of-way in Richmond and across the Fraser River.
  • Precise (1mm) rail layout and as-built in the Richmond OMC Yard.
