Free42 is an HP-42S calculator simulator program developed by Thomas Okken. It was written from scratch and does not include any Hewlett Packard code. It runs on several operating systems including Windows, Palm, and Pocket PC.
For HP calculator lovers who miss their HP-42S, this program is in some ways better than the original calculator.
Features
- Programs may be saved to files and reloaded easily; no need to rekey in programs.
- Programs are compatible across systems. Run the same programs on all your Free42 platforms.
- Memory only limited by your system. Virtually no limit on registers and matrices.
- Fast performance.
- Printer output to .tif or .txt file.
- PC and Pocket PC versions can use standard keyboard and shortcuts.
More details may be found at Thomas Okken's Free42 site.
Copan Extensions
UGL has added some programming commands to the Free42 program to enable program access to coordinate files used by UGL's Copan COGO software. This allows users to write HP-42S programs to manipulate the points stored in the coordinate files or to use the point data in other ways.
