1995 GASANDES Pipeline Mapping - Mendoza, Argentina to Santiago, Chile
Maipo Pass, Andes Mountains, Chile - 12,000 feet

Underhill provided GPS and project management expertise on this photogrammetric mapping project of a proposed 450 Km gas pipeline corridor. Wild System 200 and Ashtech Z XII receivers were used. Geolab was employed in the analysis of the control network.

Transportation on the Chile side (from Santiago to the Maipo Pass) was via a combination of vehicles and helicopters. Extreme winds, and elevations in excess of 12,000 feet severely limited helicopter access. On the Argentina side (Mendoza to Maipo Pass) transportation was accomplished via a combination of four wheel drive and horseback.
