3D Sounding Plot

Underhill has successfully incorporated digital sounding data with real time position input from either: Real-Time Kinematic GPS, or Robotic Total Stations. The system can be run on either a Pen or Notebook computer. Sounding data is collected on a Raytheon 719B Survey Fathometer equipped with an ODOM Digitrace digitizing unit. Other digital sounders can be employed, as well. With this system we can produce positionally accurate bathymetric readings on the fly.

Sounding Screen

Our system operates utilizing standard NMEA-type serial messaging for input and output of sounding and position data. In addition to taking input from sounders, GPS, and Total Station Instruments, the system can also output NMEA strings to other devices.
